Congratulations to our CCS Cross Country Team! They wrapped up their season at the State Cross Country Meet yesterday at Horizon Christian School in Indianapolis. Team members worked hard and made great personal improvements this season. Special thanks to Coach Dean Schlaudroff for his dedication and commitment to bringing back Cross Country to CCS!




A big "thank you" to Tynker for Schools for awarding CCS a curriculum grant for the 2023-24 School Year! We appreciate Mrs. Lindsey Brown, CCS 5th Grade Teacher and CCS STEM Coordinator, who was able to research and apply for this opportunity. Tynker provides web-based, fun ways to learn programming and develop problem-solving & critical thinking skills. We cannot wait to see how our students will be applying new coding skills!

Just as a reminder -- today our CCS Staff will participate in a day of Professional Development. All students will have an e-Learning day. Instructions have been sent home with all students (via packets or on Google Classroom). And -- Monday starts FALL BREAK! Enjoy -- and we'll see you back at school on Monday, October 16.


CCS Geography students are learning about different types of government. They competed in a tower building competition. Each group was operating under a different government with different rules to follow! Thanks to Ms. Imlay for this creative lesson!

Mark your calendars! The CCS Drama Department will be presenting "A Lighter Shade of Noir" by Patrick Derksen on October 20th and 21st. Doors will open at 6:30 and the show starts at 7pm.
Come see how a group of crazy detectives attempt to solve a crime that happened right under their noses, all while they fight to prove it's each of their own arch nemesis who did it.
Tickets are set to be available now and are $5 for student and $8 for adult. (Tickets will be $2 more at the door -- so get your tickets soon!)

Mrs. Linda Felde is our Librarian and is the 1st grade Classroom Assistant.

This group of talented individuals leads our students to grow, refine their skills, experience the arts, and trust in Scriptures like Jeremiah 29:11 and Psalm 34:4.


Meet the CCS Nurse and CCS Academic Coach! Mrs. Sheila Hackworth is an RN and is our School Nurse! She is available for minor emergencies, health questions or concerns. Sheila has been a nurse for 30 plus years. Sheila also teaches Anatomy and Physiology through Ivy Tech's dual credit program. Mrs. Miranda Fleeharty is CCS (and CCSNV's) Academic Coach - which means she tracks data for the State, helps teachers implement teaching strategies to help students achieve grade-level goals, and is essential in training teachers in Google Classroom, Go Guardian, and Renaissance. She is also the CCS Yearbook Advisor. These ladies have a heart of service - clinging to Scriptures like Colossians 3:23-24, "working for the Lord..." and Proverbs 3:5-6, "trusting in the Lord." We are thankful for the talents and knowledge these ladies bring to CCS!

Meet the CCS Elementary Bible Teachers! Mrs. Beth Johnson has worked in ministry in the Columbus for many years and has joined the CCS Team to teach Bible in Kindergarten-3rd Grade. Mrs. Abby Glasser has been involved in ministry for the majority of her adult life and teaches Bible to students in 4th-6th Grade. They cling to Philippians 4:13 and Proverbs 3:4-5, reminding us to "trust in the Lord" who "gives us strength." Mrs. Johnson and Mrs. Glasser teach interactive and applicable lessons based directly in scriptures. They make sure our students have both a head knowledge, but most importantly, heart knowledge of who Jesus is and how much He loves us all.

Mrs. Cheryl Thill teaches 11th & 12th English, as well as Speech and Interpersonal Communications.
Ms. Savannah Spurgeon teaches 9th/10th Grade PE and is our College and Career Coordinator (Ivy Tech/Work-based Learning).
Mrs. Julie Humphrey teaches Spanish 1, 2 &3.
Mrs. Angee Leeds is our Guidance Counselor and teaches our Senior Project class.
Mr. Gary Yeager teaches Algebra 1 & 2, Personal Finance & Geometry.
Mr. Spencer Heaton leads our Chapel services and teaches High School Bible.
Mr. Brian Buterbaugh teaches 8th/7th Grade Science, Integrated Chemistry/Physics (ICP), Biology, Health, & Chemistry.
These teachers cling to Scriptures like John 3:14-15, teaching students that "...everyone who believes may have eternal life in Him."
We are thankful for all of our Staff who work together and teach our Middle and High School students!
